St. Patrick's Day is celebrated every year on 17th March in honor of the patron saint of Ireland. It's a time to celebrate Irish culture and all are welcome to join over 40 million Irish Americans in "the wearing of the green". Parades take place across the world on or around March 17th with the largest parades being held across the United States.

Birmingham St. Patrick’s Day Parade 2010

Its purpose is to preserve and enhance the heritage and traditions of the Irish Culture as well as share that culture with the citizens of Arizona. This year will be the 27th Anniversary. The Parade has marching bands, Irish step dancers, bagpipers, police and fire vehicles, government dignitaries, floats, the 2010 Arizona Irish Colleen with her court and a whole lot more. Culver St., next to the Irish Cultural Center. 40th Sedona St. Patrick’s Day Parade 2010Saturday, March 6 - 10:30 AM The 40th Annual Sedona St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival will be held on Saturday March 6th.The event is presented by Sedona Main Street Program, NAU Parks and Recreation Management Program and the Sedona Green Team. The parade starts at 10:30 a.m. from Jordan Historical Park and proceeds south on Jordan Road to Mesquite Avenue. Parade entrants include dignitaries and civic, social, cultural and religious organizations and businesses from the area. The Festival begins immediately following the parade, featuring live entertainment, free children’s and family activities, food vendors and, of course, a Beer Garden until 3:00 p.m

The South Side Irish Parade Committee is pleased to announce the creation of the South Side Irish Parade Family Fest, a culturally-rich St. Patrick’s Day celebration to be held on Saturday, March 13, 2010.
Hosted in conjunction with the Beverly Arts Center, this daylong event will feature activities such as an Irish soda bread contest, a best-dressed “Irish” dog contest, and a children’s parade around the art center’s grounds. The event will also offer family-friendly activities such as Irish-themed arts and crafts for kids, children’s films, and a live production by the Beverly Arts Centers’ own children’s theater group. In addition, this event will feature food, drink, numerous Irish vendors, and live entertainment from bagpipers, Irish dancers, and a host of Irish musicians. The evening will culminate with a performance by Hothouse Flowers, a world-renowned band hailing from Ireland that combines traditional Irish music with influences from soul, gospel and rock.

In Des Moines, as in many other U.S. cities, we recognize March 17th (St. Patrick's Day) with a parade, the 'wearing of the green', and in some places…green beer (they really add green coloring to it!). The parade is sponsored by The Friendly Sons of St. Patrick. This year’s parade will start promptly at 12:00 noon; from 15th Street to Locust Street, proceed east on Locust all the way to Embassy Suites Hotel for the Reception. The parade begins at the Broadway 'T' Station and ends at Andrew Square, South Boston and will feature marching bands and pipe bands from throughout North America. The Sixth Annual Burlington County Saint Patrick’s Day Parade will be held on Saturday March 6, 2010 in Downtown Mount Holly. The Parade Route will run down the length of High Street Starting near the Fairgrounds Plaza and Continue to the bottom of the hill, turning onto Washington Street and ending at the Town Hall. The Parade will once again kick off at 1 P.M.
This is Burlington County’s only Parade celebrating Irish Heritage. We will once again be joined by some of the area’s greatest Irish Musicians and Dancers including the Bogside Rogues, Lia Fail Pipe Band, The Shanty’s and many other great acts. In addition, expect to see many other groups joining the march down High Street including several Irish Organizations, Police and Fire Units and representatives of our Armed Forces. This years parade is slated to be bigger and better then last years event.

Last year had a record crowd of about 75,000 people and more are expected for the - 26th Annual Saint Patrick’s Day Parade in Seaside Heights on Saturday March 13th, 2010, which is dedicated to the Wounded Warrior Project, that helps support wounded Veterans.

The Trenton Saint Patrick’s Day Parade will begin with opening ceremonies on the steps of St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church on Olden Avenue. The Parade will then march down Olden Avenue turning left onto Hamilton Avenue. Then going down Hamilton Avenue, the main route of the Parade, participants pass the Reviewing Stand at Columbus Park. The Parade then turns left onto Chestnut Avenue and finally ends at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church. The Trenton St. Patrick's Day Parade annually features in excess of 120 Marching Units and Floats and draws well over 60,000 spectators.

The Union County Saint Patrick’s Day Parade gathers at Morris Avenue and along Commerce and Jeanette Avenues, the parade route proceeds east along Morris Avenue to a turn at the Main Reviewing Stand and ends at Roosevelt Avenue. Opening ceremonies feature Irish Step Dancers, Bagpipers, and entertainment for the children including clowns and face painters.

The Glen Cove St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee, formed by the Glen Cove Ancient Order of Hibernians, are the sponsors of the Glen Cove St. Patrick's Day Parade. It is Glen Cove’s biggest annual parade and is an eagerly awaited celebration each Spring, by all residents of the North Shore and the entire Irish community of Long Island. The Parade forms behind the Finley Middle School, Forest Avenue and moves into Forest Avenue south of Dosoris Lane. Parade will kick off just north of the Huntington Train Station along New York Avenue before turning west onto Main Street ending at Saint Patrick's Church. Over the past 76 years, the parade has grown to become the oldest and largest on Long Island. Every year up to 50,000 people enter into the spirit of the day; packing the streets, shops, restaurants and pubs of Huntington Village. It’s a day for celebration when everyone has a wee bit of Irish in them.

The annual Mount Kisco St. Patrick’s Day Parade will step off from Main St. and Moore Avenue and end at South Moger Ave. and Green St. The parade is more than an Irish celebration; it is also an event which is a source of pride and enjoyment for all. The New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade on Fifth Avenue is a 248 year old tradition. It has taken place On the streets of New York since 1762 and the oldest & largest St. Patrick’s Day Parade in the world.
The Parade first marched on March 17, 1762 - fourteen Years before the Declaration of Independence.
The New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade celebrates Irish faith and heritage and remains true to its roots by not permitting floats, automobiles and other commercial aspects in the Parade. The Parade has always been organized by volunteers since its inception 248 years ago and continues today with volunteers from the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
The parade will march up Fifth Avenue past St. Patrick's Cathedral at 50th Street all the way up past the American Irish Historical Society at 83rd and the Metropolitan Museum of Art at 83rd Street to 86th Street, where the parade finishes around 4:30 - 5:00 pm

The Rocky Point St. Patrick’s Day Parade began way back in 1950 and marches to this day along the original three mile route, allowing the residents of our neighboring hamlets, mainly Rocky Point, Sound Beach and Miller Place to enjoy a spirited parade. The parade steps off on the intersection of Harrison Ave. and Rt. 25A in Miller Place and continues along Rt. 25A to Broadway in Rocky Point.

Over 50,000 spectators watched last year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade as it marched through the heart of Charlotte to the sound of pipes and the cheers of the spectators lining the streets. The combination of flags, floats, kids, and pipe band music made everyone smile and be Irish for a day. This year’s parade will be even bigger and better!
The parade will step off at 11:00 A.M. at Tryon and 9th street in uptown Charlotte. The parade will march South to Tryon St. and 3rd. Street. Our parade emcee this year will be K-104.7 radio personalities Brandon Chase & Katie Hall.

Expected to attract approximately 20,000 spectators from Dublin and surrounding cities, the parade is a wonderful opportunity to entertain guests who want to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Dublin, Ohio where “Irish is an Attitude”. The parade will begin promptly at 11 a.m. and last approximately 90 minutes. The parade starts at Metro Center and continues through Historic Dublin.

The 2010 version of the downtown St. Patrick's Day Parade is scheduled for Saturday, March 13th. The parade will begin at 1 p.m., starting at 5th and Broadway to EK Gaylord, east on Sheridan into Bricktown. Quite a popular holiday event, the parade typically has thousands of OKC residents lining the streets. There will be more than 80 parade entries, Shriners, dancers, clowns, animals, antique cars and more. Tom McDaniel, President of Oklahoma City University, is the 2010 Grand Marshal.

This year, the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Downtown Pittsburgh will proceed from the intersection of Liberty and 11 th Streets to Grant Street to the Boulevard of the Allies, where it will turn right. Proceed on the Boulevard of the Allies to the Reviewing Stand at Stanwix Street, then disburse at Commonwealth Place.

The 54th Annual Newport, Rhode Island Saint Patrick's Day Parade will be held, rain, snow, or shine, on Saturday, March 13th 2010. It will begin promptly at 11:00am from Newport City Hall and will proceed to Carroll Avenue at Saint Augustin’s Church in the heart of the Fifth Ward. The parade this year is estimated to last 2 hours and will include 10 Pipe Bands, 12 Marching Bands, 4 Fife & Drum Corps, 3 Clown Units, 7 reenactment units, and a host of local, state, and regional organizations including police and fire units, social/fraternal organizations, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Schools, and non-profits.

Pawtucket's annual parade will be held Saturday March 6th stepping off from Jenks Jr High School at 12 noon. It will turn right onto So Bend St, continue down Walcott St, over Rte 95 onto Main St and end on Roosevelt Ave at the reviewing stand in front of City Hall. It will feature Bagpipe bands, High School bands, community groups and entertainment of all kinds for all ages!

On Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. there will be magic in the air on Devine Street in Columbia, South Carolina where one of the nation’s largest St. Patrick's Day Festivals will begin its second event of the day, the St. Pat’s First Citizens Parade. The St. Pat’s Parade will assemble at Dreher High School and travel the Musical Mile down Devine Street into Five Points offering blocks of public viewing. After entering Five Points, the parade will wind its way down Devine Street and up Saluda Avenue, returning to Harden Street at the Five Points Fountain and concluding near Food Lion. Be sure to wear your green and get your Sham-Rock On at the St. Pat's First Citizens Parade!

We have chosen the song, “If you’re Irish” as the focal point of the message which the theme embodies”. The Parade route will be through the Gateway Center. All Units will assemble in the area of the intersection of 400 West and 200 North, march south on 400 West and then south, through the middle of the Gateway. The line of March will terminate at the south end of the Gateway.

The Celtic Festival and the parade take place right in heart of downtown Roanoke, VA. Together it’s one of the largest St. Pat's Celebrations in the entire mid-Atlantic region.
